Policies of the Wasatch Penturners
Club as of
August 6, 2009 The name of the organization
is the Wasatch Penturners Club. The purpose of the Wasatch Penturners Club is to improve turning skills, promote
safety, and foster enjoyment of penturning, and to
associate with, and learn from other penturners. Club
meetings are held on the first Thursday of August, October, December, February,
April, and June at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodcraft store at 9891 S. 500 W. in Sandy,
Utah. Visitors are welcome to
attend all Club meetings except the December Christmas party (unless as a
member’s “significant other”), and they may present demos, but they may not
participate in other club activities, e.g.,
show and tell; the sale, swap, or give-away table; raffles or door prizes;
purchase of Club demo DVD’s; and Christmas party (except that members’ “significant
others” may attend). Officers serve one year and
are elected at the June meeting. Other
positions such as Webmaster, Editor, and Photographer are added and staffed as
needed. The officers and others that
hold positions must be members. The
titles and responsibilities of the officers are: President: Point of coordination for members and officers Coordinates the planning of meetings Conducts meetings Public
relations Vice President: Member
relations Coordinates member recruiting Insures that club members are notified of club activities Conducts meetings when the President can’t Secretary: Maintains the official roster of members Keeps the official record of meetings Submits each meeting record to the President for approval Submits
the meeting record to the Editor and the Webmaster Treasurer: Safeguards the club funds Collects and records dues from members Dispenses and records fund dispersal for the operation of
the club Member-at-Large: Fills
in where needed All Officers: Plan club meetings Recruit members Submit information to the editor and webmaster for the
website The
Club’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to the next June 30. Dues are $24.00 per year payable at the
August meeting. Financial records are
reviewed and approved bimonthly by the President, Vice President, and
Treasurer. New policies and changes to current
policies are approved by the majority vote of the officers. |
